NASA APOD · Adam Block
COSMIC MESSAGE
Thor's Helmet is a bubble of gas and dust, thirty light-years across, blown by a fast wind from a massive star. The star, a Wolf-Rayet, is a giant, hot, and thought to be in a brief, pre-supernova stage. The nebula sits in Canis Major, about 15,000 light-years from Earth.
