Alpine Superga Moonset

NASA APOD · Stefano De Rosa
COSMIC MESSAGE

December's Full Moon, seen here setting over the Alps near Turin, Italy, was a 'supermoon' because it was near its closest point to Earth. The early morning light, just before sunrise, casts a beautiful reddish glow on the mountain peaks. The moon itself is still fully illuminated and bright.
