Almost every object in this image is a galaxy. The Coma Cluster, one of the densest known, contains thousands of galaxies, each with billions of stars. Although relatively nearby, light from the Coma Cluster still takes hundreds of millions of years to reach us. The cluster is so large that light takes millions of years just to cross from one side to the other.
