This flash of light, seen by the Hubble Space Telescope, might be the farthest star yet observed. It could be a gravitational lensing event, showing a normal star 100 times more distant than any previously imaged. The galaxy cluster on the left shows many yellowish galaxies, while the right shows an expanded view where the flash appeared.
