This night skyscape frames Mount Everest, the highest peak on Earth, with colorful star trails. Captured from an Everest Base Camp, a digital stack of 240 sequential exposures over 1.5 hours recorded the sheer north face of the mountain, illuminated by bright moonlight. The star trails, reflecting Earth's rotation, form gentle concentric arcs centered on the south celestial pole.
