Tiny Planet Timelapse

NASA APOD · Brian Haidet
COSMIC MESSAGE

This 'tiny planet' image is a 30-second timelapse of the sky, captured from the Grande Pines Observatory in North Carolina. It combines a full 24-hour period of skyward views with another 24 hours of groundward views. The resulting data is then projected onto a flat frame, creating a spherical panorama that shows star trails and the movement of the sky over a day.
