Jupiter Engulfed and the Milky Way

NASA APOD · Mohammad S. Hayati
COSMIC MESSAGE

This is a good month to see Jupiter. Our solar system's largest planet is visible just after sunset. If you have binoculars or a small telescope, you should be able to see Jupiter's four brightest moons and possibly some cloud bands. This image was taken about a month ago from the Persian Gulf, with Jupiter to the right of the nearly vertical band of the Milky Way.
