The center of our Milky Way galaxy is about 26,000 light-years away in Sagittarius. We cannot see it directly because of intervening interstellar dust. This annotated mosaic of dark sky images highlights some favorite features, including dark dust clouds, glowing nebulae, and crowded starfields.
