This unusual aurora appeared over northern Canada in 2013, taking on a ghostly shape. Auroras are caused by charged particles from the Sun interacting with Earth's magnetic field and atmosphere. While this one might inspire Halloween-themed interpretations, its green color is typical for auroras, resulting from oxygen atoms emitting light at specific altitudes.
