NASA APOD · Robert Q. Fugate
COSMIC MESSAGE

This image combines two photographs taken from the Grand Canyon, one at sunset and another an hour later at night. The red glow on the mountain peaks comes from an unusually red sunset. The night sky above shows the stars and the Milky Way. This composite image was created by an amateur photographer from the 220 Mile Canyon campsite on the Colorado River.
