COSMIC MESSAGE
The diagonal band of light connecting the ground to the Milky Way is zodiacal light, dust orbiting the Sun in the inner Solar System. It is most visible just before sunrise or after sunset. This wide-angle image, taken from Chile, shows it alongside the central band of our Milky Way.
