This 27-frame mosaic shows a small lagoon in the Atacama Desert of Chile reflecting the night sky. The reflection creates the illusion of an 'eye' gazing at the stars. The Milky Way Galaxy arches overhead, appearing as a seemingly smooth band. This band is actually composed of billions of stars, decorated with filaments of light-absorbing dust and red-glowing gas.
