COSMIC MESSAGE
Comet NEOWISE displays two distinct tails. The blue ion tail, made of charged particles, points directly away from the Sun, pushed by the solar wind. Its structure comes from varying rates of ion expulsion and the solar wind's complex nature. The dust tail, however, shows an unusual wavy structure, influenced by the comet's rotation and dust particle sizes.
