On July 23, 2020, China launched its Tianwen-1 mission to Mars, carrying an orbiter, lander, and rover. This Long March 5 rocket lifted off from Hainan Island, marking China's ambitious entry into Mars exploration. It was one of three missions launched to the Red Planet that month, alongside probes from the UAE and NASA.
