COSMIC MESSAGE
The Small Magellanic Cloud is a dwarf galaxy orbiting the Milky Way, about 200,000 light-years away. It is easily visible to observers in the Southern Hemisphere. Ferdinand Magellan and his crew studied it during their circumnavigation of Earth in the early 1500s, leading to its name.
