NGC 4565, also known as the Needle Galaxy, is a spiral galaxy seen edge-on from Earth. It's located in the constellation Coma Berenices. This sharp image reveals the galaxy's central core, cut by obscuring dust lanes in its thin galactic plane. An assortment of other background galaxies is also visible.
