This full moon, a 'Flower Moon,' was also a 'supermoon,' meaning it reached its full phase near its closest approach to Earth. This made it appear a bit larger and brighter than an average full moon. It was also a total lunar eclipse, where the Moon passed through Earth's shadow, giving it a reddish hue.
