COSMIC MESSAGE
The Andromeda galaxy, our nearest large spiral neighbor, is usually seen with its bright core and dust lanes. This deep image, however, reveals faint reddish clouds of glowing hydrogen gas surrounding it. These clouds are likely ionized by the galaxy's stars.
