In 2012, Jupiter and Venus made a close approach in the sunset sky, visible from almost anywhere on Earth. This photograph captures the pair from Szubin, Poland, with the planets separated by only three degrees. A faint red sunset glow still lit the sky, making for a dramatic scene.
