The Shark Nebula

The Shark Nebula is not a danger to us, as it is composed only of interstellar gas and dust. Dark dust, like that seen here, is created in the cool atmospheres of giant stars. After being expelled and gravitationally recondensing, massive stars can carve intricate structures into their birth cloud. They use their high-energy light and fast stellar winds as sculpting tools.
