COSMIC MESSAGE
The Eagle Nebula, M16, contains a brightly lit region where an open cluster of stars is forming. Through a window in a larger dark shell of dust, tall pillars and round globules of dark dust remain. Young, bright blue stars are already visible, and their light and winds are burning away the surrounding gas.
