COSMIC MESSAGE
This 8-minute exposure from New Zealand captures the colors of a December summer evening. Looking south, star trails form short concentric arcs around the south celestial pole. The Southern Cross stars and the dark Coalsack Nebula are visible. Alpha and Beta Centauri make the brighter yellow and blue-tinted trails.
