COSMIC MESSAGE
Alpha Centauri is the closest star system to our Sun. It contains three stars, with the dimmest, Proxima Centauri, being the nearest. Alpha Centauri A and B form a close binary, separated by about 23 times the Earth-Sun distance, a bit more than the distance between Uranus and the Sun. Alpha Centauri A is the brightest star in the system.
