COSMIC MESSAGE
When a massive star explodes, it creates a supernova remnant: a huge fireball of hot gas expanding outwards. This image shows two such remnants, SNR G179.0+02.6 and SNR G189.1+03.0. The gas glows as it slams into the existing interstellar medium, heating up to extreme temperatures.
