Anticrepuscular Rays: A Rainbow Fan over Spain

Sometimes, the most interesting sky display is not where the Sun sets. On this day in Spain, a rainbow appeared in the east, directly opposite the setting Sun. From its center, impressive anticrepuscular rays fanned out. These rays, caused by sunlight reflecting off falling rain and scattering in the atmosphere, created a striking visual, with the Sun behind the camera.
