COSMIC MESSAGE
The elliptical galaxy Centaurus A has dramatic dust lanes running across its center. These lanes are so thick they almost completely block the galaxy's core in visible light. This is unusual for an elliptical galaxy, which typically has little dark dust. The image shows a complex network of gas and dust, along with shells of dim stars.
