Collinder 399: The Coat Hanger
NASA APOD · Frank Barrett (Celestial Wonders)
MENSAJE CÓSMICO
Collinder 399, known as The Coat Hanger, is a distinctive grouping of stars visible with binoculars. For a long time, astronomers debated whether it was a true star cluster or just an asterism, a chance alignment of stars. Recent precise measurements have shown that the stars are not physically associated, confirming it as an asterism.
