Sunrise over the Parthenon
Today marks the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, the longest day of the year. This maximum daylight is why we experience the heat of summer. At the North Pole and above the Arctic Circle, the entire day will be lit by sunlight. This photo shows the sunrise over the Parthenon in Athens, Greece.
