The Milky Way Over Tenerife

The band of our Milky Way Galaxy is a faint strip of light visible in a dark sky. This band is the disk of our spiral galaxy, and because we are inside it, it appears to encircle Earth. This spectacular image of the Milky Way arch, taken over Tenerife, goes beyond what the unaided eye can see. It is a deep digital fusion of nine photos, revealing the intricate details of our galactic home.
