A Venus Transit Music Video from SDO

In 2012, Venus transited the Sun, appearing as a black dot moving across its face. The Solar Dynamics Observatory, in Earth orbit, provided an uninterrupted view of this event. It recorded the transit not only in optical light but also in ultraviolet wavelengths. This composite movie, set to music, shows Venus's journey across the Sun. Scientists used such observations to study Venus's atmosphere.
