Austrian Analemma

The Sun's path across the sky changes through the year, making a figure-eight shape called an analemma. This image records the Sun at the same time each day over a year, from a fixed spot in Austria. It shows the equinox, when the Sun crosses the celestial equator, heading south for autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. This is a careful record of our planet's orbit and tilt.
