NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
In August 1989, NASA's Voyager 2 spacecraft passed Neptune, the most distant gas giant planet. Its closest approach was to Neptune's largest moon, Triton. From about 24,000 miles away, the probe surveyed Triton's surface, where the temperature averages nearly -400 degrees Fahrenheit, and discovered surprising geysers.
