Europa, one of Jupiter's Galilean moons, has a smooth, icy surface with very few craters. Beneath this ice, scientists believe there are deep oceans of liquid water, possibly 50 kilometers deep. These hidden oceans make Europa a prime candidate for finding extraterrestrial life in our solar system. Galileo discovered this moon in 1610.
