These are clouds of young, blue stars forming an arc in the Large Magellanic Cloud. The LMC is the nearest galaxy to our Milky Way. The stars are in a star-forming region called N 51. They are so young and massive that their lifetimes are only millions of years, unlike our Sun's billions.
