Atlas Centaur rockets have a long history of successful unmanned missions. They launched the Surveyor series, which were the first to make soft landings on the Moon. These rockets also sent Pioneer 10 and 11 to Jupiter and Saturn, making them the first human-made objects to leave our solar system. The Viking missions to Mars also used Atlas Centaur rockets.
