COSMIC MESSAGE

Leo I is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy, part of the Local Group of galaxies that includes the Milky Way and M31. It is thought to be the most distant of the eleven known satellite galaxies orbiting our Milky Way. Leo I contains many older stars, and it is located about 250 kiloparsecs away.
