This is the first color image of Jupiter's volcanic moon Io, captured by the Galileo spacecraft on June 25, 1996. The image reveals features as small as 14 miles across, comparable to earlier Voyager images. It shows significant changes on Io's mottled surface since the Voyager flybys.
