Anticrepuscular Rays at the Planet Festival

Anticrepuscular rays stretched across the sky as the Sun set on July 11. These bands of light and shadow are formed by a large cloud bank near the western horizon, casting long shadows through the atmosphere. Due to perspective, the bands appear to converge toward the eastern horizon, above a 14th-century castle in Brno, Czech Republic. People gathered in the foreground for a festival.
