Before telescopes, Tycho Brahe used enormous instruments to measure the positions of stars and planets. His observations were the most accurate of his time. He hoped to determine whether the Earth or the Sun was at the center of the solar system. The data he collected helped Johannes Kepler develop his laws of planetary motion.
