Aristarchus' Unbelievable Discoveries

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Aristarchus, who lived on the Greek island of Samos from 310 to 230 BC, proposed that planets orbited the Sun. He also used logic to estimate the size of the Earth, Moon, and Sun, along with their distances. These ideas came over a thousand years before Copernicus and Galileo made similar arguments.
