NGC 604: Giant Stellar Nursery in M33

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 604 is a giant star-forming region, about 1,500 light-years across, in the nearby spiral galaxy M33. The Hubble Space Telescope captured this image, showing over 200 hot, massive, newly formed stars within a cavern-like cloud of gas. These stars irradiate the gas with ultraviolet light, causing it to glow. The structure of this nebula holds clues to how massive stars form.
