COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 2997 is a spiral galaxy with a small nucleus and sprawling arms, similar to M100. It is about 55 million light years distant. Its mass is roughly 100 billion times that of our Sun, but likely less than the Milky Way. The galaxy is not seen face-on from Earth.
