COSMIC MESSAGE
When a star like our Sun runs out of fuel, its core collapses into a white dwarf, and its outer layers are ejected into space. This creates a planetary nebula, a glowing shell of gas and dust around the dying star. Shapley 1 is one such nebula, named after astronomer Harlow Shapley, and it exhibits a distinct ring-like structure. These nebulae are far beyond our Solar System, despite their planet-like appearance through early telescopes.
