On April 7, the SOHO spacecraft detected a solar storm that sent energetic particles towards Earth. While the storm's center missed us, these particles created a geomagnetic storm. The Polar Ionospheric X-ray Imaging Experiment on NASA's orbiting Polar spacecraft captured this X-ray aurora on April 11.
