The region around Antares and Rho Ophiuchi is a colorful mix of cosmic phenomena. Blue reflection nebulae are dust illuminated by starlight, while reddish emission nebulae glow from excited hydrogen atoms. Dark dust clouds block starlight, appearing as silhouettes against the brighter regions.
