COSMIC MESSAGE
The Orion Nebula is a stellar nursery, 1,500 light-years away. Its glowing gas surrounds hot young stars at the edge of an immense interstellar molecular cloud. This detailed image of the nebula was created using data from the 2 Micron All Sky Survey, or 2MASS. The 2MASS project maps the entire sky in infrared.
