COSMIC MESSAGE

The Lagoon Nebula, also known as M8, is a bustling star-forming region in Sagittarius. The red glow comes from hydrogen gas energized by new stars, while dark filaments are dense dust obscuring light. It lies about 5000 light-years away and is easily seen with binoculars.
