NASA APOD · Yuugi Kitahara
COSMIC MESSAGE

Reflection nebulae, like NGC 1435, glow by reflecting light from nearby stars. The nebula's small carbon grains scatter blue light more efficiently than red, giving it a characteristic blue hue. NGC 1435 surrounds Merope, one of the brightest stars in the Pleiades, illuminating the dust around it.
