Happy Face Crater on Mars

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Even Mars can have a happy face, as seen in the Galle crater. This Martian crater has internal markings that resemble a smiley face, first observed in the 1970s by the Viking Orbiter. These markings are believed to be formed by chance through natural geological processes following a large meteor impact. The Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) spacecraft, which recently started its mission, took this picture.
