N159 is a spectacular star-forming region in the Large Magellanic Cloud, about 170,000 light years away. The Hubble Space Telescope revealed bright newborn stars, dark dust filaments, and glowing hydrogen gas. The central, butterfly-shaped cloud is known as the Papillon Nebula.
